Software engineering is a engineering to find the solution of the problems those could be solved through the development of the softwares. With the increasing number of technical development there should be respective development of software to solve the problems. Low-quality software are operated to fulfill the users need. Thus software engineering was introduced to address the low-quality softwares issues.

Bachelor of Software Engineering

Bachelor of Software Engineering is a 4 year / 8 semester course. Which focus on the development of high-quality softwares to fulfill the users need. The initial first year course for software engineering is similar as of computer engineering. which makes better understanding of software components and its hardware interconnections. Students gets basic understanding of hardware too.

Bachelor of Software Engineering in Nepal

In Nepal Bachelor of software engineering is named as "Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering (BE Software)". This program is available only under Pokhara University. As the affiliation from Pokhara University currently there are only two colleges providing this program. NCIT and GCES, Nepal College of Information Technology and Gandaki College of Engineering and Science.

It is available of affiliated colleges only. This program is yet not available at Center College of Engineering of Pokhara University. Total of 150 students admitted at this course every year, Among them 10% of the seats are reserved for the Pokhara University Scholarship students.
